Book Tour: Touched to the Core By Elsa Winckler

He gave her his heart, but can he give her the truth?

Schoolteacher Dana Roux doesn’t need sexy hotel tycoon David Cavallo to add to her troubles. They have absolutely nothing in common—she’s a simple schoolteacher in a small coastal town, and he has more money than he knows what to do with. Besides, as a former journalist, he’d remember the news stories about her dad’s alleged involvement in a dirty, Ponzi-like scheme, and his subsequent suicide. The last thing she wants is for the dark shadow of that scandal—and tragedy—to fall upon her once again. Especially since she knows her dad was innocent.

For David, flirting with a beautiful woman comes as naturally as breathing. So when he winds up kissing his sister-in-law’s best friend, he realizes Dana isn’t just another pretty pair of lips. But things between them get complicated quickly when he discovers who her father was, and that it was David’s own news story that blew the case wide open and sent her father to jail—and to his death. David’s not sure what to believe, but he knows he can’t let Dana blame him forever. Especially since she insists her father was an innocent man. But when Dana’s life is threatened, he realizes that he might not have uncovered the whole story. And that now, older and wiser, he just might be the only one who can uncover the truth.

I have been reading love stories for as long as I can remember and when I ‘met’ the classic authors like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Henry James, The Brontë sisters, etc. during my Honours studies, I was hooked for life.
I married my college boyfriend and soul mate and after 40 years, 3 interesting and wonderful children and 3 beautiful grandsons, he still makes me weak in the knees. We are fortunate to live in the picturesque little seaside village of Betty's Bay, South Africa with the ocean a block away and a beautiful mountain right behind us. And although life so far has not always been an easy ride, it has always been an exiting and interesting one!
I like the heroines in my stories to be beautiful, feisty, independent and headstrong.  And the heroes must be strong but possess a generous amount of sensitivity. They are of course, also gorgeous!  My stories typically incorporate the family background of the characters to better understand where they come from and who they are when we meet them in the story.

Snippets – (There are 3 snippets please only post one)
Snippet 1:

The next minute the band started playing a slow dance and before she could move, David was standing in front of her. He held out his hand, a challenge in his eyes. “Dance?”
A quiver slid along her spine. Damn it to hell – why did his voice always have the same effect on her?
She wanted to refuse, wanted to turn around and flee as far away as possible from this party, but then she looked up and saw the knowing look in David’s eyes. He knew, damn it. He knew exactly how uncomfortable he made her, he knew she didn’t want him touching her.
Steeling herself against the onslaught on her senses she knew was coming, she lifted her chin and placed her hand in his. He smiled, closed his hand around hers and bringing their clasped hands up, let her twirl before he pulled her close.
And then, as she’d known would happen, sensation after sensation flooded her body – delicious shivers glided down her back, blood rushed through her veins, her heartbeat quickened, goose bumps covered her arms.
His nearness was overwhelming and did something to her, as she had discovered not so long ago when she’d danced with him during Caitlin and Don’s wedding.
David, like his three brothers, was tall, dark, and breathtakingly handsome. And like any other red-blooded female out there, she noticed and enjoyed looking at them.
But ever since she’d laid eyes on him for the first time, he’d managed to rub her the wrong way. Oh hell, not rub, she had to think of another word. Rub had connotations of bodies close to one another, of intimacy, and just thinking of her body close to David’s …
