Book Review: End Game (Book 3 in the Vittorio Crime Family Series)

About the Author:
Hi! I'm a New Adult Romance author who lives in Northern California. I loooove dark romances and I've just published a billionaire NA Romance that's available now! Feel free to drop me a line at Join my newsletter here for discounts, information on new releases, and more! Check out my website at:

It only took her a couple months to do something stupid, and now my boss wants her dead.

It would be simple, except she makes me feel for the first time in months. I love tasting her, having my way with her, and she’s gotten deep under my skin.

She's chained to my bed because I’ve decided that she’s mine. I want her, but what I want doesn’t matter to the Family. I’m a soldier. I’ve seen and done so many terrible things, and one more death won’t matter. I have to do my duty.

I have to kill her. Even though it feels like I’m killing myself.

I need to get out, but I can’t leave without him.

I thought I could handle the mob. I thought I could control them.

Instead, they’re controlling me. They sent him to watch over me. Joe DiFiore, a soldier in the Vittorio Family. He says he's here to protect me, but I know the truth. He’ll kill me if I make one wrong move.

He's my judge, my executioner, but he's also my protector. It's sick, but I want him, and I'm falling hard for him. He says he just wants to play, but I should know better. Kissing him is like playing with fire, and I’m addicted. He was a spark that raged into an inferno.

Now the families are at war, and they both want me dead for what I’ve done.

He's my only chance... and I can't believe I'm falling in love with him.

Author's note: This is a dark romance novel with a possessive alpha male over 80,000 words long. It is a standalone novel, the third in the Vittorio Crime Family series
Rated: 4 out of 5
This has been an amazing series that I could not put down until I had read all the books for it and even now I find that I want more. I definitely loved the overall plot for End Game, but feel like this should have been more of a spinoff of the series instead of it being a continuation. It had many of the same characters from the first two books, but in a much lesser role. I was disappointed that Adrianna had such a limited role to the point of almost non-existence and that Vince was portrayed as a jerk for most of the time he was included. That being said, Joe and Marissa were strong characters, each making you feel some sort of connection to them. Joe is the muscle, the protector who has his own demons to work through. While Marissa is the down to earth girl with a family that walks all over her. Love and loss, forgiveness and betrayal, mercy and revenge. This book had it all.

November Rain

Marty Mayfield fell in love at the tender age of 16 to Matt Cooper. He was her world until the day he left to go into the Air Force. From many letters she had written and mailed, responses from Matt never came. Her world felt destroyed and lonely. After graduating high school she moved to Paris and lived there for 12 years. During her years of living there she met the man she thought could replace Matt. Turned out her years in Paris brought nothing but pain, loss and suffering.
Making a fresh start from her wounded past she makes her way to San Diego, California where she ends up finding the one person who had always made her feel whole. Will she be able to get past her scars and give Matt her whole heart again? Will she be able to forgive him for leaving her hopeless? Denying her love for him will be a struggle, sexually and emotionally.

Matt Cooper was the black sheep of his family. He wanted nothing more than to play music and live outside his father’s influence within the Air Force. Having no other choice, he took that road and left the one girl who loved him unconditionally. Regretting his decision for not writing Marty back, he continued to serve his country. Years later, after retiring, he started living his dream in San Diego, but the loneliness was always there. His heart had always been with Marty. He couldn’t get past the thought of ever living without her. Feeling like he came out of years of a coma she enters his life again. He felt his love for her immediately and more stronger than ever. Getting her to trust him again will be a battle, but he was never going to give up. He was determined to keep her in his life forever.

He was her life and was the most important person in it - Until the day she met Quinn Baker - the man who would rock her world.

Maura finally found the truth she was always seeking…or has she?

After being left in the dark for all of her life, Maura’s father, Maxwell, has finally returned to reveal sinister family secrets Maura could never have dreamed possible—including his revelation that she is one of The Born. But his daughter soon discovers both he and her mother are keeping pieces of her reality hidden, still. As Maura struggles to unravel the mysteries surrounding her new existence and discover every piece of the cryptic puzzle, life appears intent on casting stumbling blocks across her path with every step forward.

Tragedy seems to stalk Maura, and those around her, as she stumbles along, altering the young changeling’s family, just when they have all come back together. The changes left in its wake could be for the better, or may threaten their existence, entirely.

With the arrival of Christmas comes the opportunity for Maura to draw close to everyone she loves—and finally reunite with Ron, her long-distance boyfriend. But permanence has always eluded her, and in her current state of flux this pattern endures, as fate seems intent on snapping the threads that bind her to those she holds most dear. Maxwell’s good intentions pave a road for Maura, littered with misery, while her mother, Caelyn’s, desire to shield her family from pain may tear her away from them, altogether. The perfect happiness in the young vampire’s grasp is so easily swept away and dragged under, out of reach. Can Maura erupt from the darkness and confusion to break the surface and find the life she’s always dreamed of?

In the midst of chaos, assistance materializes in the form of another of her kind—ephemerally beautiful, yet explosively volatile, this new vampire may prove capable of unlocking the puzzle-box Maxwell seems intent on securing from her sight. Maura will discover the darkest parts of herself in her quest to understand the being she is destined to become. Her newfound friend has some shady intentions of his own—such as thwarting the love that has grown between Maura and Ron. Following in the wake of the impulsive vampire’s misguided instruction may further pull a naive Maura down into the depths of ultimate despair, heartbreak…and even destruction.

My hand came to rest on Ron’s chest as I tried to steady myself and his heartbeat pulsed against my palm—electrifying, as if a wire had connected the two—and I realized the beating inside my head mirrored the same inside his chest.  His heartbeat resonated in my ears, silencing the rest of the world.  Ron’s mouth moved, speaking words, but his heart drowned those out, too.

“Shhhhhh…” I bent to kiss him and devour any words of protest.  There was a pulse in his full, perfect lower lip that kept time against my own.  He lay very still now, so I pushed myself up enough to look in his face.  It was red…everything my sight beheld was tinged scarlet, so I shut my eyes against it.  I could hear a small tearing sound, as if there was a microscopic person inside my head ripping paper—crek…crek…crek.   My canines ached like they were being ripped from their sockets.  If I could just sink them into his flesh, it would take away all the pain…

Cover Reveal: The Black Blossom by CJ Anaya

It's important to build a little suspense in a cover reveal, right?

First the author's bio:

C. J. Anaya began writing short stories for family and friends when she was thirteen years old. This soon morphed into an extensive project every year during Christmas as a way to create a fun and inexpensive Christmas gift.

Her passion for reading and writing led her to following her own dreams of becoming a published author. She was born in Utah and raised everywhere else. She even lived a few years in Brazil, enjoying the people, the culture and learning the beautiful language of Portuguese; a language she is still fluent in to this day. As a result of her exposure to varying peoples and cultures, her interests became varied as well.

As a mother of four children she is now a singer and a songwriter, a baker and a cake decorator, a dancer and a choreographer, a girl with a degree in Criminal Justice and a first time published author of YA paranormal romance and fantasy. She is also married to the most deliciously, handsome looking Latino. As always, she has plenty to write about.

Now, this book is actually the second in a series! Did you know that?
Here, let me explain,... no, I take that back,
here is the book blurb:

Forced into a strange, dream-like state, Hope Fairmont is reliving her life as Mikomi, Princess of the Kagami Empire and The Healer of the world. Life as an Imperial Princess is rife with danger, betrayal and intrigue as Mikomi joins forces with a rebel group of samurai warriors in order to usurp the throne from her tyrannical father. To win this seemingly hopeless war, she must train with Musubi, a warrior in the rebel army, and learn the art of the sword without revealing her identity as The Healer.

Unbeknownst to her, Musubi has his own secret identity and personal agenda which carries dark consequences for Mikomi's future. Neither one can afford to share their secrets with each other. Nor can they ignore the powerful chemistry building between them.

To complicate things further, she must hide her dealings with the rebels from her betrothed, Masaru Katsu, who has arrived at the palace in order to train her in the art of healing the veil before she ascends as a full kami on her eighteenth birthday. Her betrothed is not the cold-hearted warrior god she expected, but how can she spend eternity with a deity she may never love? Determined to avoid the future her parents and Katsu have planned for her, she spies on her father and his generals, collecting intelligence for the rebel army in the hopes that one day all of Kagami will be free and the future will be hers to control.

World's collide in the second book of The Healer Series as this epic love story carries the reader on a journey filled with romance, action, adventure and intrigue.
