Synopsis:
It only took her a couple months to do something stupid, and now my boss wants her dead.

It would be simple, except she makes me feel for the first time in months. I love tasting her, having my way with her, and she’s gotten deep under my skin.

She's chained to my bed because I’ve decided that she’s mine. I want her, but what I want doesn’t matter to the Family. I’m a soldier. I’ve seen and done so many terrible things, and one more death won’t matter. I have to do my duty.

I have to kill her. Even though it feels like I’m killing myself.

Marisa
I need to get out, but I can’t leave without him.

I thought I could handle the mob. I thought I could control them.

Instead, they’re controlling me. They sent him to watch over me. Joe DiFiore, a soldier in the Vittorio Family. He says he's here to protect me, but I know the truth. He’ll kill me if I make one wrong move.

He's my judge, my executioner, but he's also my protector. It's sick, but I want him, and I'm falling hard for him. He says he just wants to play, but I should know better. Kissing him is like playing with fire, and I’m addicted. He was a spark that raged into an inferno.

Now the families are at war, and they both want me dead for what I’ve done.

He's my only chance... and I can't believe I'm falling in love with him.

Author's note: This is a dark romance novel with a possessive alpha male over 80,000 words long. It is a standalone novel, the third in the Vittorio Crime Family series

Review:
This has been an amazing series that I could not put down until I had read all the books for it and even now I find that I want more. I definitely loved the overall plot for End Game, but feel like this should have been more of a spinoff of the series instead of it being a continuation. It had many of the same characters from the first two books, but in a much lesser role. I was disappointed that Adrianna had such a limited role to the point of almost non-existence and that Vince was portrayed as a jerk for most of the time he was included. That being said, Joe and Marissa were strong characters, each making you feel some sort of connection to them. Joe is the muscle, the protector who has his own demons to work through. While Marissa is the down to earth girl with a family that walks all over her. Love and loss, forgiveness and betrayal, mercy and revenge. This book had it all.

Book Review: Double Blind (Vittorio Crime Family #2)

Synopsis
The boss of the Rizzo family needs me. I need to get closer to Carmine Lucchesi, a captain in his family. I need to steal information from him. He’s a sweet man, but underneath there’s something damaged, something deranged.

The boss wants me to leave Vincent, the man I love. End the engagement. I'm with Carmine until he says so. Until I get what he needs.

Or he’ll kill Vincent. He’ll kill my mother, and Vincent’s mother, and everyone I've ever cared about.

I don’t have a choice. I need to end it with him, even though I love him. Even though it just might kill me.

Author's note: This is the sequel to High Stakes, with the same characters. Read High Stakes before reading this book! This is a mafia romance novel, it contains a possessive alpha male hero with themes of kink and mature situations that could make readers uncomfortable.

Review:
Double Blind is the second book in the Vittorio Crime Family Series. I felt the build up and suspense in this book overshadowed the first book. I loved the description. I loved the plot. It had me so involved in the story that I pictured the characters and pulled for Vince and Adrianna. I felt there wasn't too much focus on adding sex into the book as was the case in the first book, High Stakes. My only gripes with it were a few typos and that part of the plot was a bit predictable, both of which did not take away from how amazing the book was. If you liked High Stakes, you'll love Double Blind much more. This is a must read.
