When Egyptologist April Tanner is asked to translate the hieroglyphs on an ancient ring, she is unwittingly drawn into a world of danger and intrigue. Her colleague, Dr. Peter Scherril, believes the glyphs will lead to a treasure hidden nearly two thousand years ago by an Egyptian named Remaliha. The problem is the glyphs don’t make sense.
A week after Peter is killed in a suspicious car crash, the ring shows up in April’s mail. She vows to decipher the artifact’s code and figure out why someone wanted Peter dead. Her inquisitions put her in the path of dashing archaeologist Nathan Hayes and his mysterious friend James Reddingham. Nathan invites April to join his expedition near Luxor.
Once she arrives in Egypt, April aggressively pursues her investigation of the ring. But soon she suspects the motives of both Nathan and James and finds herself dodging thieves and assassins at every turn. In the end, uncovering the secrets of the ring could lead to Remaliha’s treasure . . . or April’s own tomb.a Rafflecopter giveaway

Tell us about your writing - What genre do you prefer to write? What books, stories, other publications that you've written are your personal favorites? Anything new coming up?
I mostly write YA, but I love fantasy. I have 20 completed novels, two published and lots that I’m trying to get out there. My personal favorite is a series that I’m just prepping to send to agents called Storm Child. I’m excited and hoping it will be picked up soon.
What about you as a person? What do you do to relax? Favorite movies or tv shows? Hobbies?
I love to read, a lot!!! That’s usually what I do to relax. I also play the piano and sing. I love belting Broadway songs in my car on the way to work.
My favorite movie is Undercover Blues, but I also enjoy watching the hunky men of the Avengers.
I really like Disney’s Girl Meets World tv series. Good messages. Makes me cry more than I like. J
What gets your creative juices going? Do you write to a music, and do you want to share your playlist?
I actually don’t like writing when there are distractions. I like quiet. My muse is my dreams and the books that I read. They say read what you write and in that case I write tons of stuff, though I did try to write a romance and it ended up being more of a fantasy with romantic elements. J
"All writers must have cats, especially if they write fantasy or speculative fiction." Do you have a stand on this one? Any cute pictures of your kitty or other pet?
I have dogs, but I have no idea why a pet would be necessary to be a fantasy writer. Interesting thought.
What organizations do you recommend for those wanting to become writers? Any advice you'd like to share about writing?
ANWA is my first choice. All of my sisters are so wonderfully supportive and helpful. It has been amazing working with all these women.
My advice is keep writing, review, edit, and read.
What writers inspired you to become an author?
I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I’ve been telling stories since I was a kid and I will never stop.
