CHARETTA Interview Part 2

Welcome everyone to the Writer's Revolution. I am your host, the author of the Phoenix Blade, Andrew Hess. After a few weeks on hiatus, we're back bringing you some amazing talent including our guests this week CHARETTA

Living the Dream

Tell us about some of the albums/songs Charetta has recorded.

We’ve gotten to work with to amazing producers: Brett Hestla and Mike Watts. They both pushed us and helped us sculpt our songs.  Our most recent EP Apocalypse (Watts) is something we’re all incredible proud of.  It’s stepping into the next realm for us of this post-Apocalyptic world, which is how I feel hanging out with people who love music. We’re all survivors of something and music has been our strongest connection and biggest therapy.  It’s something special we all share.  The EP also showcases the direction we’re taking our music. Adding our 2nd guitarist- Chris Fullam to the mix has helped us develop our sound into a more layered, youthful feel.

I know it’s cliché to ask, but what’s it like being on stage in front of a massive crowd?

Great question! When the audience is into it and moving it’s an instant natural high- they help build the energy on stage and make you feel on top of the world.  Sometimes we have crowds that are a little stiff so the energy is different- it’s our job to help them lose themselves in the music, and I’m happy to say that we always find ways to do that. Every audience is different and it’s important to read them and feel their vibe so you can connect with them.

Everyone has that one band they would love to open for and also collaborate with.  Who would be your dream band to open for?

I think In This Moment would be sick! I’d beg her to let me sing a duet with her - I’d say “whatever you want just let me sing with you”. She’s a huge inspiration to me as a singer/screamer/performer.

What venue(s) have you always dreamed of playing at?

Well Madison Square Garden would be the ultimate venue for us.  It’s in our home town and playing to a packed crowd there would be a dream come true.

Tune in tomorrow for part 3. In the meantime, check out another one of CHARETTA's great hits.
