Book Tour: Once Upon Two Kingdoms by Anna Del C. Dye

Freedom to Choose is Paramount for any human

An arrangement made when Elizabeth was just a babe ties her to someone she has never met, never spoken to, never loved. Now she desires freedom—a way to choose her own path—her own husband. The moment Elizabeth meets Patrick she knows he is her soul mate. But when you are bound to a crown how is any choice your own?

Anna was born in the extreme South along some famous beaches. She grew up with four other siblings, being placed in the middle.

Anna moved to the USA to marry her husband Rodney, and has resided in Utah since then. Her husband, a native of Idaho, met her in her hometown. They fell in love and she came to Utah on Christmas Eve to be married two weeks later. They are the parents of three princes and a princess.

Early on in her life she showed an affinity for sewing and took classes that have rewarded her with the opportunities of doing the costuming for the cast of four musicals, and Utah’s own Fantasy Con, which she enjoyed immensely. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Some of Anna’s writing recognitions:

She received the Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry and had her article entitled A New American Motherpublished by Desert Saints Magazine. Her short story entitled Amerine—Fairy Princess won an award in a League of Utah Writers contest later to be published by Kalkion Magazine. (Now it has been published as an e-book.) Other articles about family and relationship have been published frequently in the MOMS CLUBÒ of Salt Lake Valley-West. She has published 7 books on her Elf series. Her and Rodney’s love story was published by Deseret book in the anthology entitled Angels Round About compiled by July C. Olsen. Another of her articles was included in the Anthology Mother’s Message in a Bottle, edited by Tyler Hayden and published by Nimbus Publishing.

Interview:

Let’s get to know you a little more. Tell us a about yourself.

I was born in Chile and came to USA on Dec. 24 to marry my husband two weeks latter. I speak Spanish and English. I write and dream in English. We live in Utah and are the parents of four princes and a princess

What inspired you to write?

Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. It opened my mind wide into fantasy and it is still there.

Tell me a little about your book, Once Upon Two Kingdoms.

Once Upon Two Kingdoms is the first book in my Royal Romance series. It is clean and a YA Medieval Romance. All the books in this series are stand-alone.
Once Upon Two Kingdoms is the story of a prince and a princess who are promised to each other by their fathers and how they take it when they find out. They spend a year trying to undo that pact, which will make them unhappy forever. This happens in the midst of some very intriguing happenings between the two kingdoms which always points a finger at the other.

Who has been your greatest writing inspiration?

Tolkien opened the door to my imagination, but the inspiration comes from my mind. It never stops thinking about a new plot or romance. All my books have been inspired by different things. The Elf and the Princess was inspired by the question…”Who could be Legolas’ equal and to whom could he give his heart. The book for next year, second in this series, was inspired by Aida, a live play, that bothers me how it ends. A Royal Elf of Abalon was inspired by a dare to hurt my main character. (It was quite painful but I did) and so the list goes on.

Now a little more about you: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you bring (excluding family, laptop, or writing utensils)?

Books to read
Blankets to make a lean to
A machete to get food and defend myself

We find out the world is going to end tomorrow. How do you live your last day?

With my family. I would spend the time telling them how much they mean to me and then I would tell them stories so they are not scared.
.
If we were to make a movie of your life. Who would play the part of you?

I think Sally Field would be perfect.

Tell us 5 random things about yourself.

I love cats
I love costuming
I love live plays
I love romantic music
I love to be different

What are the three places you have always wanted to visit but have not yet?

Sorry I have none. I have been in Machu Picchu and Germany to tour the castles.

Okay, crystal ball time. Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?

In a castle living with my family all around me.
