Book Review: Falling for Hope by Anne Conley

 About the author:
Anne has written her entire life and has the boxes of angst-filled journals and poetry to prove it. She's been writing for public consumption for the last four years. Currently she is writing two romance series. In Stories of Serendipity, she explores real people living real lives in small town Texas in a contemporary romance setting. In The Four Winds, she chronicles God's four closest archangels, Uriel, Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael, falling in love and becoming human. She lives in rural East Texas with her husband and children in her own private oasis, where she prides herself in her complete lack of social skills, choosing instead to live with the people inside her head.

Synopsis:

Hope is an eccentric librarian who lives with her five cats and loves to spend her time fantasizing about living in a world of shape-shifters, vampires, and fairies. Although the existence of a paranormal world is far from Hope's reality, she can't help but sense there's something different about the mysterious man lurking in her library.
Gabriel is God's Strength, the Messenger, who's been tasked with delivering the Word for millennia. His most recent assignment will be his last, to fall in love and become human. But he can't quite figure out what he's done to displease the Boss. Gabriel's latest assignment might be the hardest, but this gorgeous rubenesque quirk of a woman definitely has him intrigued.

Review:

This is the third book in the Four Winds Series. I had high expectations for this one after reading the first two books and this did not disappoint. The book starts out in a library setting with Gabe (The Archangel Gabriel) scouting the focal point of his assignment Hope. She was not the typical woman (physically or personality) compared to the other two women Heaven and Grace. This made the story more interesting to me. I loved seeing a dynamic where the female character wasn't some perfect, petite, overly fit looking woman that needed a man to rescue her from something. Hope was the one pursuing Gabe while dealing with the struggles of her own life. I loved the story and how the characters interacted from each other, and even more that Gabe's brothers were brought back to tie in the previous books.
This was a quick read and aside from a few spelling errors, this book was amazing from beginning to end. It can easily be read from a stand alone book or as the continuation from the series.

Synopsis

Uriel is one of God's Four Winds, the Archangel of Destiny. He has helped thousands of people throughout the ages find their destiny according to His will. This time however, what he doesn't realize, is that it's his own destiny he's supposed to fulfill.

Heather is an exotic dancer, whose stage name is Heaven. It's not what she's always wanted to do, but it helps her pay the bills, and she's got a lot of bills, with taking care of her mother and her sister. When the mysterious Uriel comes into the club, she can tell he's different -- just how different will rock her world...

Review-5Stars
Being a religious person, I thought I might have trouble reading this book. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well this story turned out. It wasn't anything like I thought. Uriel, was the Archangel of Destiny and roamed the earth bringing people to their destiny. When he met his new assignment, he never expected that he was helping more than one person reach their destiny. I won't give too much of the plot away, but I did find the way the plot was illustrated to be incredibly well done and thought out. I couldn't help but be drawn to the story and to find out what happened with Uriel and Heather (a.k.a. Heaven). The description was visually enticing to the point where I felt that I was right there in the story or watching a movie take place before my eyes. I thought this was one of the better romance books that I have read as of late and am looking forward to the rest of this series.

Four Winds Series

FOUR WINDS:

Uriel is one of God's Four Winds, the Archangel of Destiny. He has helped thousands of people throughout the ages find their destiny according to His will. This time however, what he doesn't realize, is that it's his own destiny he's supposed to fulfill.

When the mysterious Uriel comes into the club, she can tell he's different, just how different will rock her world...

Rafael is one of God’s Four Winds, the Archangel of Healing. He has answered the countless prayers for healing of loved ones, wondering what it was about the emotion that made humans willing to sacrifice so much.

Grace is a lifeguard who has been on Rafe’s radar since she lost a little boy three years ago. What she doesn’t realize is the green haze that comes over her during a rescue is actually a divine presence who’s about to give up his celestial body to become a very real entity in her life.

While Grace is trying to overcome her own demon, Rafe is discovering his own sexuality, but there’s a darker presence making himself known. The Deceiver wants what Rafe is getting, and he’ll do whatever it takes to have her.

Anne Conley Interview Part 2

Welcome everyone to another big week on the Writer's Revolution. I am your host, the author of The Phoenix Blade, Andrew Hess. This week we have a big treat for all of the romantics out there as our guest this week is the author of the Stories of Serendipity Series and The Four Winds Series, Anne Conley

Now to have a little fun:

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you bring (excluding family, laptop, or writing utensils)?
Since I’m all about survival, I would bring a machete, a zippo (cuz I can’t build a fire with sticks), and Henry Cavill.

We find out the world is going to end tomorrow.  How do you live your last day?
Making my husband and children happy.  Probably making chocolate chip pancakes, painting nails and shooting hoops.

If we were to make a movie of your life.  Who would play the part of you?
I would like Angelina Jolie to play me, not because we look alike at all, but because of her unrepentant attitude.  I admire her as a person, as much as I admire any celebrity, and I think it would be awesome if she was me for a movie.

Okay, crystal ball time.  Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?

Same place, only more people will have heard of me.  Hopefully!  J

Do you have any questions for me?

Do you enjoy the promotional aspect of your writing?  What do you think is the most successful tool you’ve discovered in your own journey?

I love meeting new authors and aspiring writers while trying to promote and love learning new things while doing it. I love interviews and guest blogging because it gives readers an insight into the author.

I think social networking as a whole has been the greatest and most successful tool because you can create a network of friends, family, readers, fellow authors and just about anyone. Twitter has been very helpful in promoting my name, my books and any promotions that go along with it and has been very helpful in promoting the Writer’s Revolution and all of my guests.

Google + and Linkedin have also been instrumental as they have produced many of my guests for the Writer’s Revolution which I am very thankful for.

That concludes my interview with Anne Conley. Please check out blurbs from Chef's Delight (the third installment in the Stories of Serendipity) and Falling for Hope (the third installment from Four Winds)
