About the Author:

Tanya Sands is the pseudonym of a stay-at-home mom who, having written but not published short stories for years, finally took the leap and published her passion. When she’s not writing she’s raising her 2 young boys and 3 furbabies while her husband supports them all by driving all over the country as a long haul truck driver. She is the youngest of 6 and a proud vet of the US Air Force. She's also the granny to a beautiful boy and has another grandbaby on the way.

About the Author:

What to tell you about me? Well, it shouldn't be hard, should it? I mean I'm a writer and can do the written word thing fairly well. I've been told that I'm a bit of a social butterfly. I love to make people happy. Whether it's from my books, or being funny (although my comedic talent could be considered questionable).
I'm a mother of 4 boys ranging from 4yrs to 25 (yeah my sanity can be questioned lol). Since my husband is a cross country truck driver I am able to stay at home with my younger boys and concentrate on them and my writing. I'm also mom to 2 dogs. An old girl of a Golden mix, Miss Sunshine and a wild child of a Bassett mix, Duke. So, I'm a single mom who happens to be married, and a pack leader. Go me 
But what about the inner Tanya, you may ask? Why BBW books? What makes me happy? Well, I am the youngest of 6 in a non-traditional Sicilian family (yeah and spoiled rotten, ask my sister). I write BBW's because I've heard write what you know. All my life I've been overlooked as a woman because of my size. No, I'm not a truly big woman. I'm very short and full figured. But if it weren't for my dynamic personality I'd be a wallflower. I love to help people, love to see smiles that something simple I can do can produce. I just wish I could do more.

Tell us a about yourself.

I’m the mother of 4 boys ranging from 5-26. The grandmother of a beautiful little boy. I’m the youngest in a not-so traditional Italian family. I’m the wife of a cross country truck driver who works his butt off to support me and our 2 boys and enable me to concentrate on writing. I’m also a die-hard patriot.

How long have you been writing and what inspired you to write?

I’ve been writing for about 2 yrs and have 5 books finished, 3 of which have been published. I’ve always considered myself a bit of a storyteller. My desire to take a reader out of their life, even if for a short time, has always been a dream.

Tell me a little about your book.

I have a series of books (called The Chasers) about a group of friends who share a common bond of their preference of curvy women that society says are undesirable because of their size. The themes so far have ranged from ménage to BDSM and new age.

Who has been your greatest writing inspiration?

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward was a HUGE inspiration. I loved the bond the warrior vamps had. I loved the cocky dialogue and the romance too. Mostly I loved how Ward’s characters touched my and changed how I thought. I want that for my characters.

What would be your ideal writing space?

I don’t really have an ideal space. Since I’m never alone and never in a quiet house, I’m not sure how I’d be able to work if I had any time specifically for my writing.

If you could meet any author from any time period, who would it be and why?

I’m not one for classics so it would be a couple of modern writers. The first I HAVE met (JR Ward) albeit briefly at a book signing. But if I could have a sit down with both JR and Diana Gabaldon I’d be happier than a pig in sh-, mud. Their 2 different styles of writing have had a great impact on me.

Now a little more about you: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you bring (excluding family, laptop, or writing utensils)?

Laptop  - so I can keep writing (internet not needed lol I’d probably get more done lol)

Kindle loaded with TONS of books – despite my being an author I still have a voracious appetite for reading

Unlimited supply of white chocolate peanut butter cups & the guarantee I won’t gain the weight from them (my kryptonite lol).

We find out the world is going to end tomorrow. How do you live your last day?

Eating WHATEVER the hell I want and reading in a QUIET room (yeah THAT will never happen lol)

If we were to make a movie of your life. Who would play the part of you?

I would want Melissa McCarthy to play me. I think she’s gorgeous and funny as hell. ‘Nuff said.

Tell us 5 random things about yourself.

I am an amateur quilter. (I only know 1 pattern )

I’m OBSESSESSED with Betty Boop

I have self-diagnosed OCD when it comes to being on time (my father being an AF retiree and the AF stressing it solidified the condition)

I hate decorating for any holiday. Seriously, I may like to bake and cook but I OBVIOUSLY lack the decorating gene lol

When I was in the military, I REALLY, REALLY wanted to become a translator. I loved learning new languages when I was in school.

What are the three places you have always wanted to visit but have not yet?

Scotland, Italy and Hawaii (although I was born in Hawaii, I’d LOVE to see it as an adult)

If you could travel to any time in history, when would you visit?

Times of the pirates. Yes, I’ve still got pirate romances in my head and am very much romancing the time, but it just seems SO exciting. Seeing the shirtless buccaneers would be awesome *winks*

If you could have dinner with any of your characters, which ones would you choose? What food would you serve?

I’d want to have dinner with the ladies of my books. And I’d serve all the comfort food my mom used to make when I was growing up. Anything from fried tuna (yeah its complicated) to hamhocks and beans (mom’s from the midwest lol) and pasta with homemade marinara sauce (well, I DID say I was Italian, right?).

Okay, crystal ball time. Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?

I SO want to say on a bestseller’s list, but I’m being pessimistic as the romance genre is brutal. No, I can see myself still an author but possibly branching out from only writing BBW romances to ones with slender women too (hey everyone deserves a love story, no matter their size *winks).
