Here is sneak peek into Legacy
Once we’re
checked in, I follow Kye to the elevator and down the hall to our room,
dragging my suitcase behind me. He opens the door and waves me ahead of him.
Dropping my bags on the floor, I stumble to the bed and fall backward onto it
to stare at the ceiling. Kye’s face appears above mine. “You okay?”
I
nod. “Exhausted. But I’ll live.”
His
smile eases some of the tension between us. “I hope so. If you didn’t, I
couldn’t.” He sits next to me and runs his fingers down my jaw, across my
cheek. “I thought it would be good to have some time alone. We should talk
before we get to Kiersten’s.”
We’ve been alone since we left. My
stomach twists with anxiety, and I can’t prevent the catch in my voice. “More
confessions?”
His
fingers keep moving, tracing my collar bone and shoulder. “No. But I think we
need to at least try to make a plan, figure out where we’re going—what comes
next. Sleeping arrangements.” He glances meaningfully at the pillows. “Didn’t
occur to me until now that maybe I should ask for a double. We’ve been sharing
for long enough that I just assumed.”
I
close my eyes, too exhausted, too confused to seriously think about anything
right now. And the truth is that more than anything else, I need to be held.
Our lives have been turned upside down and inside out. We’ve left behind
everything and everyone we’ve ever loved except each other—and we have no idea
when we’ll see any of them again—if ever. He’s all I have, and I’m all he has.
Regardless of past hurts and mistakes and issues, we’re going to have to learn
how to let go and depend on each other, regardless of whether we want to be
together the way I once thought we would.
We’re
going to have to figure out how to trust each other again.
My
lack of response has him sighing as he stands. “I’m going to take a shower. Do
you need to get in the bathroom first?”
“No,
go ahead.” I don’t move except to turn my head and watch him go. Everything
about him screams misery—frustration. I know the cure for his frustration could
probably come from me. But I don’t know how to give it to him. Not in my
current state of mind.
When
he comes out twenty minutes later with wet hair, wearing his flannel pajama
bottoms and a T-shirt, I’m still lying in the same spot. He pauses next to me,
a bemused expression lighting his eyes. “It’s all yours. If you want it.”
Sighing
wearily, I stand, expecting him to move, but he doesn’t, and his position
leaves us close. “Abby,” he murmurs. “Talk to me. Tell me what you’re thinking.
Please.”
I
shake my head, not because I don’t want to talk to him—I know, know, I need to. But I’m exhausted, and
overwhelmed, and my brain is so full, I don’t even know where to start. His
palm cups my cheek, and I lean into it, eyes closed. His relief is nearly
palpable as we stand there, close enough to touch, and yet miles apart, because
the contact of his skin on mine—even palm to cheek—still makes me quiver, heats
my blood. And Kye feels it.
Eventually,
I cover his hand with mine and hold onto it as I step around him, keeping our
fingers connected until I step into the already steamy bathroom and close the
door.

Holiday Promo Tour Day 29: Christina Escue
About the author:
Christina is a mother of two beautiful daughters, ages 12 & 8, and has been an avid reader since she was four years old. She always had a habit of picking out the errors in whatever she read and in July of 2013 she took that habit and turned it into an editing career. She thought that was her niche in the literature world, but she was wrong.
In July of 2014 she was at work and was bombarded by an idea that she couldn't shake. She is very tenacious and once an idea plants itself in her mind she cannot stop until she has followed through with it, that's how the Second Chance Series was born. A New Beginning released in October 2014 and A New Hope released in March. She is currently working on A New Journey, book 3 in the Second Chance Series.
The Second Chance Series
A New Beginning (Book 1)
For the first eight years of her life Karla Hall knew nothing but love, but when her beloved Grams and Pops died everything changed and she was forced upon a mother who never wanted her.
For the next six years she never knew what was going to happen next. Her mother moved her from town to town, following whatever loser boyfriend she had at the time and drinking away what little money she made in whatever dead-end job she could find. Her mother was a mean drunk and Karla was her favorite target. The boyfriends were worse.
On her fourteenth birthday Karla’s life takes a drastic turn. Her mother is arrested for soliciting drugs, the current boyfriend takes off and Karla is all alone in a dump of an apartment with no food and no money.
Caught shoplifting food, Karla is taken into the system and that’s where she meets The Peterson’s. Now she’s in a loving home, has a brother and sister she never knew about and has friends she’d never thought she’d have.
Will Karla get her Second Chance? Or will her past stand in the way of her New Beginning?

Holiday Promo Tour Day 28: Lost City Series By D.L. Colon
About the Author:
Hello Readers. My name isn't really D.L. Colon, but it is a play off of my real name. I am 23 years old and live in Puerto Rico. I started writing my first novel last year and I just recently published it. For me writing was a learning experience because my first language is Spanish and even though I speak English pretty fluently, grammar is not my strong suit. It may surprise you, but until four years ago I hated reading. I found my love for reading, and my inspiration to write, when I read The Summoner by Gail Z. Martin.
I have a Culinary Arts degree, which I'm planning on using when I move to the US early next year. On an interesting note, I got the idea for my first book, The Lost City: Drake's Revenge, from playing video games. I'm a gamer at heart, a writer by chance and a chef because it's something I love. I'm currently writing my second novel, which is the second book in The Lost City series. I hope you all enjoy my first novel and continue on with the series when the rest are released.
Drake's Revenge
Life in the World was simple. As always there was war, poverty, power struggles and a new leader for different years, until 2014. That was when the trumpets were heard.
What many thought was the coming of God was, instead, a race for survival. The heavens opened up, not to receive new souls, but it opened to release the battalions of heaven's warriors against a known enemy, The Demons of Hell. The Demons of Hell, led by Raphael, came with one thing in mind, Total Annihilation of The Angels of Heaven. The Angels of Heaven, led by Gabriel and given free reign by God, came with one thing in mind, Total Supremacy over The Demons of Hell. Since they needed neutral ground to fight against each other they used the one available, Earth.
Humanity was pushed to the brink of destruction during the war and people with abilities came to exist in the middle of the conflict. There was a decision made by each side to use one of their Lieutenants to gather intelligence from the enemy. The Angels chose Maria Faith for this task and Hell chose Simon Black. What neither side expected was for Maria and Simon to fall for each other. Even though they kept fighting the war for their sides on Earth, they were quickly losing interest in the battle. They decided to leave the war and build a life together. Both Heaven and Hell kept watch on them but left them alone until something happened. Maria became pregnant with Simon's son. On top of everything else, the boy was half Angel and half Demon.
Heaven and Hell couldn't let the boy live so they plotted to kill him. Maria and Simon, who named the boy Drake Blackfaith, found out about this before the attack and they took Drake to a Guild named Never Too Late. They left Drake with the Guild and a letter, which he was to be given on his 25th birthday. The day of the attack, instead of killing Maria and Simon, Heaven captured Simon and Hell captured Maria. Both of them were to be tortured into revealing the location of Drake. Both Heaven and Hell wanted him because of a prophecy that was passed down 600 years before that says....
On the eve of his 25th year, Heaven and Hell cannot do anything except hide, his wrath and hate cannot be stopped. Both of his sides will unite, to save or destroy what's left of Earth. Heed my warning, for it will come to pass. Nothing can stop it, it's just a matter of time.....
Now the year is 3014 and the war still rages on. Drake is approaching his 25th birthday and this is where our story begins...

King's Inheritence
The King family was killed on their throne when Raphael attacked the Caribbean, looking for the location of the boy of the prophecy.
During the battle they sent Noryad, their fourth and strongest son, through a portal to the Guild Never Too Late, but not before he watched how his brothers and sister were killed in front of his eyes. As the portal closed he heard Raphael say to him, “I will look for you when you are older. You cannot hide forever.”
Now 24 years old, Noryad is forced to leave the Guild he dedicated his life to because his powers are getting out of control, but his departure happened for another reason too. His parents left him a mission for when his powers got to be too much to deal with.
Go my son. Reclaim what is yours by right. Look for the Sword of Kings, the one our ancestors used during their leadership. Make our army of the dead comeback to life. Make the King of Camelot kneel before you and recognize you as his descendant.
Noryad, left with no other choice but to return to the place that has many dark memories for him, goes through a portal and into the unknown to look for something he’s never heard of.
He must learn to control his powers as he faces something sinister waiting for him in his Kingdom, and the Demon he hates the most.
Will Noryad be able to control his powers, find the sword his parents were talking about and make them proud of him? Or will he be too consumed by his revenge to claim his inheritance and lose all that he holds dear.

Champions of Darkness
After the events in Puerto Rico, after the declaration of the New Savior of the world, Noryad King, defeated Raphael, Commander of the Destroyers and taken away his powers, Lucifer has been forced to send someone to look for a new Champion who would be able to defeat Noryad King.
While looking in Hell, the guard she sent found a long condemned prophet who was screaming, “The Champions of Darkness have been set free.” And he immediately reported back to Lucifer.
Who are these Champions of Darkness the prophet speaks of?
Is The Lost City Ready for this?

Book Review: Forget Cinderella By Tracey Champion
Forget Cinderella:
Cara Mia
It all begins with my story.
I was Momma’s beautiful, happy, hippie princess. Then I was lost, sad and closed off. I wanted the fairy tale, I wanted to be Cinderella.
When I was preparing to start life on my own my story took on twists and turns I never expected. I decided to take some time to turn my story around. I wanted a happily ever after that was almost impossible until I met Amber, my friend, and she made me realize my story wasn’t were it was meant to be.
Then Jordan came along, my prince, and now my story is out of my hands. I’ve found what I was missing and I didn’t even know it, but it may all be taken away from me. I may even be taken away from this wonderful life I’ve built and the people I’ve surrounded myself with. My beautiful life could be gone and my fairy tale forgotten. I don’t even have a glass slipper to help me.
Warning: For mature audiences 18+ due to foul language and the descriptive sexual content

My Review:
I've been told many times before, the mark of a great writer is one that makes it where you cannot wait to find out what happens in the next book. Tracey Champion has done just that. The story itself took a turn that I didn't see coming which surprised me in a wonderful way. The characters took on a life of their own. And the ending was one that had me wanting to read the next installment immediately.
I will say there are a few errors throughout the story, but none that really impact the flow of the story. I think for a debut novel, this is one you will want to pick up.
Christmas Blitz Day 12: All is Merri and Bright by Author Tifani Clark
Merri Wilcox has finally achieved her greatest dream and opened her own hair salon. Life is bliss until Brighton Stansbury walks through her door. Growing up, Brighton was behind every bad thing that happened to Merri. She hasn't seen him since high school graduation and could have happily continued like that forever.
When a winter storm traps Merri and Brighton together, will the pair finally learn to get along, or will the Christmas holiday become their new war zone?
Tifani Clark grew up on a potato farm in southeastern Idaho with two brothers and two sisters. Because of her location, she had a lot of space to imagine and daydream and often pretended to be characters in books--like Scarlett O'Hara. She is married to the love of her life and is the mother of four fabulous children. When not writing, she enjoys playing the violin and piano and traveling to new places.
Q and A with the Author:
1.
Did you learn anything from
writing your book and what was it?
a.
All is Merri and Bright is the first ‘cozy romance’ I wrote. Up to this point,
all my stories have been geared toward
the YA crowd. I learned that it’s a fun genre and I can explore other options.
2.
What is the thing you struggle
with the most while writing? And how do you defeat it?
a.
Sometimes when writing my characters get stuck in situations that I
don’t know how to get them
out of. I know the story starts at Point A, and I know it ends at Point B, but sometimes getting them through the
in-between stuff can be tricky. Some of
my best thinking comes during the early morning hours. I’m a morning person and
usually wake up long before my alarm goes off. I use that time to lie in bed
and think through my stories. Answers to plot questions usually find their way
out.

Snippet
1Lost
in her thoughts, Merri didn’t notice that Brighton had stopped working next to
her—until a snowball hit her in the back of the head.
Shocked,
she whipped around to glare at Brighton who already had another snowball formed
and aimed at her. “You did not just
do that.”
“I
did. And I don’t regret it.” He grinned. “Although, admittedly, I was aiming
for your back, not your head.”
“So
not only can you not drive straight, but you can’t throw straight either,”
Merri said.
Without
any further warning, Brighton pulled his arm back and unleashed the second
snowball. It connected with her face, splattering across her cheeks and
dripping down into her coat. “Hey, look
at that. My aim’s not so bad after all,” he said.
“You’re
going to regret doing that.” Still gasping from the cold shock, Merri grabbed a
handful of snow and hurled it at Brighton. He easily ducked and the poorly
formed ball sailed over his head.
“Is
that the best you’ve got?”
“You
are so frustrating!” Merri yelled.
“No
I’m not. You just think I am because you’re frustrated with yourself.”
Merri
grabbed another handful of snow, taking her time as she formed it into a
perfectly packed ball. She raised her arm and thrust it forward, faking a
throw. Brighton dodged the empty pass, just as she knew he would. While he
struggled to regain his balance, she unleashed the snowball for real, hitting
him square in the chest.
